At an afternoon press availability, Bredesen apparently blew off the seriousness of the trooper scandal involving the illegal and unauthorized background checks on hundreds of Tennesseans claiming it was just someone being "nosy". Nosy, Governor? How would you like someone obtaining your Social Security number and other private information illegally and you not knowing about it?
Despite a Bredesen administration crony being at the epicenter of the alleged illegal activity, Bredesen says the THP can investigate itself and that they will not be releasing names of those whose privacy was invaded. Bill Hobbs says to believe the governor is to do so at your own risk.
